Varnamtown News 6

Posted by Amy Norton on

Things should have settled back into my version of normal when the Rocket Hub closed …….. Wrong!  I spent a part of the week with a bad cold and with deadlines that could not be ignored.  The cold is lingering and there are additional “must do” deadlines for this week but I am seeing the light at the end of the tunnel.

New Work :  Varnamtown Mist

The studio is feeling a bit neglected – too sick to get much work done.  I did manage to “tighten up” the drawing on the easel.  Although I tend to render a simple sketch and then just paint, this piece requires a different approach.  There is so much that I want to capture that I am not taking any chances.  The mood and details of this painting, and the possibility of not capturing both the image and emotion I have in my head, requires attention to detail and patience; I am treading lightly here.   We shall see.

Paintings at Fishmonger’s soon!

Fishmongers, Durham, NC

Preparations are being made for the hanging of the paintings in “Fishmonger’s Restaurant & Oyster Bar “ as the new hub for the Varnamtown project in Durham.  The paintings should be up and project information should be ready by the end of next week.  Look forward to a get together there and  some great NC seafood one evening soon.  I will keep you informed.

Rocket Hub

I am in the process of sending cards and making lists  the gifts for everyone.  All the support both financial and moral for this project is overwhelming and so appreciated.   You guys are the best!

On the road again

The next trip to Varnamtown is scheduled for Friday the 15th of May through the 17th.  I plan to be painting most of that time and catching up with Varnamtown friends.  If you are in that part of the country give me a call and lets get together!! 919-491-9592 text or email me :)
